Message from Outgoing President: Megan Zusy
Dear Wisconsin Student Nurses Association,
This has truly been an honor serving as your Wisconsin Student Nurses Association President. It has been a whirlwind of a year but I can say that it has been filled with a few struggles and bumps in the road but a whole lot of fun, laughter and joy! This has been such and incredible year! We have done some amazing things!
The WSNA board did an exceptional job starting out with what will hopefully be a new trend in the fu- ture, with having an overnight board bonding for our 5th annual College of Chapter Boards meeting. We moved locations and this year and the event was held at UW Oshkosh! A BIG shout out to their support throughout the weekend. It really was a great weekend with a scavenger hunt, movie and other fun events in addition to the networking and round table discussions that happened. We hope that all of the SNA's that were present got a lot out of this wonderful night of bonding, learning and growing together not only has a school but as a state!
Our next big event this year was the 69th annual Convention at the Wilderness Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. We have never had a better convention! We continue to expand this event and the opportunities that we provide to you each and every year. We had record breaking numbers for both the students in attendance, in addition to the vendors that we invited for your networking opportunities! We thank you for your support and for coming to attend this wonderful event!
In a few days, 5 of the WSNA board members and I will be heading to Nashville Tennessee to represent Wisconsin at the National Student Nurses Association Convention! This is a fabulous opportunity and I am so excited to share this opportunity with them! I attended last year and it was amazing to see so many student nurses gathered from all over the county to represent nursing! The networking opportuni- ties are truly invaluable and I encourage you to attend in the following years if possible!
I would like to thank you all for this opportunity that you provided me with as being your president! I am truly blessed and thankful for everything that happened this year! I first of all need to thank the advi- sors who have helped me this year! They have supported me and helped me with so many things! I would also like to do a shout out to the other board members who I had the pleasure of leading and help- ing them to grow as well! I would not have been able to this without their support!
"The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things." --Ronald Reagan
Finally, I want to thank you for your continued support of the WSNA. I want to strongly encourage you all to continue to pursue your calling of this great profession of nursing! We are the leaders of the next generation and the future of nursing!
Blessings, Megan Zusy
