Message from the New WSNA President: Aliece Kerscher

Dear Wisconsin Student Nursing Association,

My name is Aliece Kerscher and it is my pleasure to introduce myself as the 2017-2018 president. I am currently on the board at Marian University Wisconsin and have been involved with the communi- ty service chairmen of my board for the last few years. Being involved with SNA and WSNA has been a blessing and a great learning experience.

I look forward to learning more about you all and growing even more this year. It is my goal for all of us to grow individually and as a team through academics, and being involved through WSNA. WSNA offers opportunities that allow you to expand your horizons; not only for your own personal growth, but to aid your schools’ ability to pave the way for new incoming students. I am very excited to be your president, and I am looking for many ways to make our organization be the best that it can be.

I will not be attending the National Student Nursing Convention in Nashville, however I look forward to hearing about the information that some of our peers will gain and bring forth new ideas to our WSNA.

Here are a few reminders for upcoming events this year. We will be having our Annual College of Chapter Boards meeting in the fall of 2018. This is a great opportunity for your SNA officers and ad- visors to bring new ideas to the table and share your chapter’s involvement in activities. In return, your school will come away with many new ideas to help expand your local chapter. This is a great event and we encourage every school to attend. We also have our Annual Student Nursing Convention for 2019. It will be at the Wilderness Resort in the Wisconsin Dells on February 1st- 3rd. The 69th convention was a great success. We had record-breaking numbers for both attendees and vendors. We would like to thank you for making it a wonderful, fun filled weekend. I look forward to another successful convention at the dells!

I am also excited for the people who are on the Board of Directors this year! We have a few returning board members and many new comers as well. Make sure you read up on each person who is on our board and get to know them all a little better. Also, please do not hesitate to contact any one of us if you have questions or concerns.
